Coming full circle

Single Instar is an instrumental piece that completes the second trilogy of Drosophelia releases, which was started by 6581 on the Moult EP.

The overall sound is atmospheric, as long as the atmosphere is reminiscent to that of a hospital scene in a science fiction movie.

Production notes

Instar continues the trilogy's sonic signature, defined on Exuvia by heavy use of the Yamaha TX-802's FM synthesis, modular synthesis and the Homecorrupter plugin.

Plugins built for the occasion

The track also introduces the:

• Darvaza tremolo plugin which is used (almost!) throughout, where it is apparent on the pulsating sub bass layer and on the modular synthesizer improvisations beyond the half-way point of the track.
